Joanne Houston

Jo had wanted to be a vet nurse since she was 6 years old but had never pursued the possibility, instead she studied human development and care. It wasn't until she returned from travelling Australia and happened across a job advert in the local paper did her Veterinary Nurse career start in November 1995. It was destiny!

Jo is Head Nurse as well as Clinical Coach to student nurses, so all her experience and knowledge is being passed on to the future generation.

She enjoys the variety and sometimes fast pace of 1st opinion companion animal care.

Away from the practice Jo has two children, an adorable Spaniel cross called Rexie, who is adoptive mother to Callie Kitten, who was a tiny hand reared kitten and is now the Queen of the household!

Jo loves walking and during Lockdown Jo has found a passion for painting.
