Joana Almeida

Joana graduated in Portugal in 2009 from the University of Tras-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) and has been working in Kent since 2013 in Companion Animals Medicine. Studied to obtain a GP certificate in Diagnostic Imaging in 2019. Interests have been ultrasound, soft tissues surgery, exotics and dermatology and recently also orthopedics. Started in a clinical management role in 2020 as Head vet, obtaining experience in coaching new graduate vets, leading a team of vets and managing clinically the practice.

Joana has been Clinical director at Lady Dane since June 2024.

At home she is owned by two loving and cheeky Portuguese podengos rescued from Portugal with whom she loves to share walks on the beach. She also enjoys going for hikes with her partner, going to the gym, swimming and practicing capoeira (a martial art from the slaves in Brazil and Angola).
