SUMMARY
The Pet Travel Scheme (with its appropriate acronym of PETS!) applies to all cats and dogs. Provided that they meet certain criteria they can enter &/or re-enter the United Kingdom from approved countries without any need for quarantine.
In order for your pet to qualify for a pet passport it will need to be vaccinated against rabies. Note : pets must be at least three months old before vaccination is permitted and must also be microchipped prior to vaccination.
Approximately 30 days after vaccination a blood test will be carried out to ensure that the vaccination has been effective. Re-vaccination must be carried out at pre-prescribed intervals.
Full information can be viewed here (this would be a link to a knowledgebase article, once published!)
